Domain Expiration Process

Days since ExpirationStatusDetails
1-33Expired (grace period)The domain will cease to operate as it will be placed on clientHold status. This means the website won’t load and emails won’t be delivered. However, you can still renew the domain at our standard renewal rates. Even in this clientHold status, the domain remains eligible for renewal and transfer. Please note that if you don’t take action, you risk losing the domain on the 31st day if someone else bids on it through an auction.
5Expired (grace period)The domain is now open for auction bids. However, you retain the option to renew the domain at our standard renewal rates. If you choose to renew the domain at any point before the auction concludes, the auction will be automatically terminated
31Expired (grace period)The domain auction reaches its conclusion. At this point, if there are any active bids, the domain will be awarded to the highest bidder. If you haven’t renewed the domain by now, you will lose ownership of it at this time.
34-64TD >Expired (restore period)During this period, renewal is only possible through the registry restoration process. While you can still renew the domain through your account, the cost will be significantly higher at $80 or 7000 INR (plus taxes) if you are from India. This price increase reflects the substantially higher fees we must pay to the registry for domain restorations. It’s important to note that domain transfers to a different registrar are only possible before the domain enters the Expired (restore period) status.
65-69Expired (pending delete)At this stage, the domain is no longer eligible for renewal and will be removed from the registry. Once your domain reaches this status, renewal is impossible and there are no remaining options to retain ownership of the domain.
70<DeletedThe domain has now been completely removed from the registry. It has been returned to the general pool of available domains, meaning anyone can register it on a first-come, first-served basis.
